Help me get into Technorati Top 10 search list

March 27th, 2007

Maybe you’ve heard of Steven Furtick? He’s as Pastor who is in the Technorati top 10 searches. Why? because he got upset about people talking trash about him and swore not to use Technorati, and I guess all his followers wanted to see what upset him, which led to the top 10, and now it’s staying there because everyone is curious.

So. Lets do this again. I’ve tried to pick a highly sort after search term that people perhaps have not heard of, and I want to get it to the top 10. And in the top tags, and in WTF, and just anywhere really.

The term is “lexington law”.

How?

- Write a post and point it to this post.
- Give it a tag “lexington law”.
- Bookmark this link.
- Click on this link and do a technorati search

LETS GET THIS BABY ROLLING.

Update: Cathy Seipp has also recently made it to the technorati top searches. Cathy recently passed away after battling Lung Cancer. My sympathies to her family and apologies if my quest has hurt any feelings. It was well under way before I realized.

The beginning

February 16th, 2007

For some time now I’ve been looking at various internet tools and wondering “what can I do?”. The latest craze is link bait, its kind of a fancy term for viral, but the idea is to do something that generates interest and results in in-bound links to your site. Write something provocative, create a cool must-have tool, do something crazy, its all link bait and makes the world (at least this virtual networky thing we call the world) go round.

So, I got to thinking…. What hasn’t been done yet?  Which of course led me to my name.  Anyway, I’ll be honest, I’m looking for stunts to pull to get internet traffic which leads to advertising dollars.  And while I’ve got a few ideas, I’d love for people to give me more. Send me some ideas via email to <ideas> at this domain. I want to pay people for their ideas, but I don’t know how yet. My initial thought would be that I share a percentage of the revenue that the  idea brings in, plus some link love, but feel free to offer suggestions on monetization and revenue sharing.

Writing in English is not my thing, but writing in scripty languages I can do (although that could be debated also), so I’m thinking automated scripts to do some stupid stuff. Or anything really, just as long as its not illegal or morally wrong.
